Aerial photo of Fairmount, 1938

Source: Cornell University

Cornell University maintains historic aerial photos of New York State, including this view of Fairmount on September 6, 1938.   (Click link for photo) Fairmount Corners is at the upper right of the image.  The image is zoomable.  Preparations for the building of Holy Family Church can be seen, as well as at least two remaining stone outbuildings from the former Geddes farm.  Undeveloped land to the southwest of Fairmount Corners (formerly Geddes family farmland) will become Fairmount Hills subdivision.   Streets have been laid out, but most homebuilding will not happen for another 15 years.

Views of the area from 1951 and 1966 are also available.
